Okay, something that has been on my heart today and then I PROMISE we will get to report cards and today's dress. This young man broke my heart today.
http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2013/oct/15/orphan-goes-church-and-asks-someone-anyone-adopt-h/ This is Davion. He is a 15 yr old orphan and he desperately wants a home and a family of his own. He went to a St Petersburg church to ask for a home. Read this story and if you have a dry eye, then you just aren't human. If you or anyone you know might be interested in adopting Davion, please contact (866) 233-0790. This quote from his plea just stuck with me:
''My name is Davion and I've been in foster care since I was born ... I know God hasn't given up on me. So I'm not giving up either."
We aren't giving up on you, Davion. Share and repost this until his forever family is found!
Okay, let me collect myself and post about some report cards.
And now onto my middle school boy. Another set of fine grades!
Which is how we ended up with all the donuts. Did you know you get a donut for every A? And two principal's lists mean a lot of donuts. Yay!!
So, onto today's dress. It is from Create Kids Couture. And, let me tell you, it earns an A in my book. If you have a tween girl, Create Kids Couture is definitely a pattern company you should acquaint yourself with. As a matter of fact, they just released FOUR more tween patterns today. AND they have adult womens patterns. You can see these, today's pattern and ALL of their tween patterns at http://www.createkidscouture.com/tweens/. Today's pattern is the Marissa's Tween Perfect Peasant Dress. It goes up to a size 15/16. And it was a natural fit for those perfect fall fabrics I got from JoAnns. you can find today's pattern here http://www.createkidscouture.com/marissas_tween. Here is the picture from their website
Cute, right? Well, here is our fall fabric version.
Look at those trims on the front bodice. I got these in a kit from a cool website called http://www.niftythriftydrygoods.com/.
You can get those trim kits like those above. They are AMAZING and so much fun! They have tons of color options. The color option I got for this dress was Orange. http://www.niftythriftydrygoods.com/proddetail.asp?prod=CQEA-orange
Now, back to the Marissa Perfect Peasant.
This dress makes me want some apple cider and to go to the pumpkin patch. I love it, she loved it.
Thank you for coming by on this hump day. Now, if you will excuse me, I think there are some donuts with my name on them! After all, I have been able to keep her in new clothes all nine weeks, and I think they at least get me honor roll :) See you tomorrow!
