Today, she is wearing a premade tshirt cut off 5" below the underarm with a gathered woven skirt. I used ribbon and pom pom trim on the hem of the skirt and used ribbons and buttons to make a contrast faux button placket. Add some big funky contrast buttons and a simple tshirt with attached skirt becomes cute and trendy. This one got a lot of attention at school today. All of her friends loved it. So, here we have it. My own creation for tonight.
Tomorrow is the last day of school for this week because our Headmaster cancelled school on Friday for a "Great Weather Day." So, today was our last regular day of school for the week. Tomorrow is their "Friday" and they are having a "Pink Out" day in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness week, so she is wearing her pink school spirit shirt. Breast cancer is very close to our family in that she lost her grandmother to breast cancer. My mother in law passed away very young from this disease, so please take the time to get mammograms when recommended and do breast self checks. This year, I had my first mammogram and got the dreaded phone call. I had an irregular reading and had to go back. Fortunately, in my case, it was overlapping tissue and I checked out ok. However, early detection is key.
I will probably be doing a few special posts the rest of the week, so be sure to stop back by. And, I have my ortho appointment on Friday to check my fracture. Any prayers for its healing are appreciated!
My daughter is now officially jealous of yours!! Although I do sew for her my pace is more like a new outfit every two weeks :) Come check out my blog to see a few.
