I did do Christmas sewing for the kids and it was a race against the clock. I always make them a fleece blanket and pajamas.
For the fleece blanket, there is no pattern. 2.5 yd of 2 different fleeces - usually a Christmas pattern for one and a solid coordinate for the other. On the solid in one corner on a diagonal. I embroider their name and Christmas and the year. Then, its lay them out on the floor right sides together, pin, pin, pin, sew all the way around leaving about a 3" opening, clip the corners, inside it all out poking out the corners with a chopstick, then handsew the opening. Boom - Christmas blankie.
For the pajamas, I used this pattern for the pants
Its the Easy Fit pants for tweens and adults. You can find it here http://www.etsy.com/listing/38156869/easy-fit-pants-for-women-and-men-tweens?ref=shop_home_active&ga_search_query=easy%2Bfit. Its a super easy sew. For her I used a kitty flannel and for him I used a plaid flannel shirting. For the tops, I bought plain tshirts at JoAnns and monogrammed them with their initials.
Done.
So, my sewing machine will be off for a week. That's scary :)
I hope you guys have a wonderful rest of the holiday season and a blessed and safe New Year!
See you back for the 1st day of the 3rd 9 weeks/2nd Semester on January 6th!
