The Hills are Alive

Can you tell by the title that I am excited about tonight's live performance of The Sound of Music? I grew up with the Julie Andrews version and always adored it. I know tonight's version is more the Broadway one, but I am excited about it nonetheless!

Today I had to keep it simple. Yesterday sped by. Of course, as I am sure it is for you too this time of year, there are more tasks than there are hours in the day. Somedays I feel like I am buried in stuff to do. So, when it came time to make her outfit for today, I was aiming for out the door in less than 30. I was thinking, what do you see as one of the quintessential best sellers at every craft store and etsy category? Peasant Dresses. Don't ever underestimate simplicity. This timeless style is quick to assemble and cute as can be. You can make it in every size from the baby folk on up to the ladies. Today's pattern is my go to Peasant pattern - the Long Sleeved Peasant from Whimsy Couture (https://www.etsy.com/listing/151449365/whimsy-couture-sewing-pattern-tutorial?ref=shop_home_active&ga_search_query=long%2Bsleeved%2Bpeasant
I used some gorgeous Christmas chevron and coordinating red and white polka dot. And there you have it. A 30 minute sew that gets as many compliments as a most of the day project. Here is our Christmas peasant dress from Whimsy Couture.

I have some lofty patterns I am going to try to get done for next week. Wish me luck!! And I am hoping to post my first Christmas gift tutorial.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Enjoy The Sound of Music tonight!
