Well, we went back to school today. Fortunately, we did not get hit as bad as our northern neighbors. Our prayers are with everyone impacted by this storm. This has definitely been one crazy winter.
I told you guys this was going to be the week of quick sews, and so we end this week of sewing with one of my favorites - and again - it is so quick and easy. Its the Lacy n Lane Hoodie from Greenstyle Creations http://www.greenstylecreations.com/products/lacy-n-lane-hooded-t-shirt-sizes-3-years-to-14-years.
This is one of her favorite patterns too as you can do so much with it. I like using this with upcycled shirts. When we saw today's primary shirt at the store, she had to have it. You will soon see why.
If you haven't been under a rock and you have children, I am sure you have heard this little ditty
On our trip to Disney last weekend (has it already been a week since we left?? Wow - this time last week we were packing!), we heard this song Over and Over and I might mention OVER again. So, when we saw the shirt - it was a gimme.
So - what does the fox say? Let's see if our pictures will tell us!
This is what Mom tells the fox to say when she has heard the song too many times! ;)
So, after hearing the song a million times - we still dont know what the fox says.
And since we are taking puppeting at our local theatre academy, we had to get this shot ;) The fox won't let her say what he says!
Well, we won't have an outfit Monday because the kiddos are out for President's Day, so we will be back on Tuesday.
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, so I hope you all have someone special to give a hug to - Fur Babies count!
And before I go, I just have to share something that has weighed heavily on my heart today. I don't sew for the younger set, but if you do, please consider buying one of these patterns today -http://www.craftinessisnotoptional.com/2014/02/love4jlk.html. The designer of these patterns was close friends with a family who lost their beautiful daughter, Jennifer today. The picture below is from her Mothers blog. She was such a beautiful girl.
I can't even express to you in words how I felt reading the blog today. I only read the most recent entries and I could barely breathe. It made me think of all the times I get annoyed with my two or fuss at them over little things, or blow them off to do chores or work around the house. Just reading her accounts of reading stories to Jennifer or brushing her hair - things I take for granted. Right now, I have two healthy, happy children and that is such a huge huge blessing. I have my daughter standing next to me right now - hair dripping wrapped in a towel getting ready to get dressed for bed. She is so perfect and so here, so alive. I pray no one reading this ever has to go through that pain. This family needs help financially as the burdens of cancer are SO expensive. Craftiness is not optional is donating all of their pattern sale proceeds today to the family or you can donate directly here http://www.theyoungandbrave.com/warriors/jennifer-k/. If you can spare even a dollar, please consider it. And if you are a parent, go hug your baby right now. Feel the warm breath coming after them and thank God for that moment. Our hours are truly numbered and we don't know when that number is up for any of us. This moment is all we have guaranteed, right now.
I pray for Jennifer's family - for peace. And I cry for them.
If you can help, please consider donating or purchasing a pattern.
thank you so much for the support! I hope we can help in a small way...
