Love Notion Number 9

Outfit 109 - 2013-14 School Year

Well, we are back (again!). We had a great time at the camp Monday night with the middle and high school archery teams. We stayed in a private room at the camp while the team stayed in a bunk room. They had dinner, practiced shooting and then had a bonfire with devotion, praise and worship and s'mores. Then, Tuesday was the big day. We are a first year archery team with many of our kids never having picked up a bow ever - so to win second at regionals and get invited to compete at state was an awesome accomplishment. So, imagine how ecstatic we are that BOTH of our teams qualified to compete at the NASP National Archery Tournament in Louisville, KY in May. Unfortunately, it isn't cut and dry that we definitely get to go. They way the nationals registration works is that on Monday every team across the country that placed first in their state competition will get to register. Then, on Tuesday every team that made a certain score can register. This goes on until Friday where the teams that made the cut off to nationals but were in the lower percentage (us) can register for the spots that are left. We have been given permission by our school that if there are slots, we can go. BUT, we won't know until next Friday. So if you are of the praying type, please pray for these kids. They earned the score and have worked so hard, I would hate for their journey to stop after they earned the slots. My son was the top male shooter on his team shooting a 253 out of 300. We are very proud of him and all of the participants on both teams. Here are some phone pics from yesterday.

My son is on the left. This is during his flight shooting.

So, now that we are back home (and still not unpacked from Disney - our house is a mess) - let's get on with today's outfit. So, I titled today's post Love Notion Number 9 for a few reasons. First, it is outfit 109 of the year. Today is April 9th. And today's pattern comes from Love Notions - which made me think of Love Potion No. 9. I have never used any of the Love Notion patterns before. I saw this one pop up on the PDF board on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/PDFPatternSalesandPromotions/ and decided to pick it up since it was such a cute knit. I am very happy to have this one in my collection. We got home after 5 yesterday and I was able to get this completely cut and sewn last night (even completely exhausted). It is a cute comfy fit and she liked it (all little girls LOVE pockets!). I will say I cheated and did rolled hems because I was really tired. The pattern calls for traditional hemming - just wanted to throw that out there. You can find this pattern on Etsy. It is the Trendy Tunic Pattern https://www.etsy.com/listing/185348164/love-notions-trendy-tunic-pdf-pattern?ref=shop_home_feat_2 and it goes up to a sz 14.

So, here is our size 12 version!

Overall, I say this one is recommended. I hope they will continue developing tween size patterns! :)

Hope you guys had a great Hump day and are getting ready to head to the weekend. Im just happy to be back in my bed for a few days straight!

Hope to see you tomorrow!
