Outfit 122 - 2013-14 School Year
Wow, it is hard to believe this is the last full week of school for us this school year. They took the 5th graders over to the middle school today for a "visit". It's crazy to think she is ready to go to middle school. She is still my baby.
We had a crazy busy weekend. My son is in our school's production of The Little Mermaid which will be Thursday and Friday this week. So, he had practice Saturday and after school today. He will also have it tomorrow. Saturday, we did our first Mud Run 5k. It was insane. I ran the 830am start time with my son. I only skipped 3 obstacles (I don't climb, extreme fear of heights.) He did all of them. Then, my husband did it at 945. The baby isn't old enough to do it. You have to be 12. Here are some pictures from the run.

It was HARD! We crawled through all kinds of mud, climbed mud hills, slid down a 50ft waterslide into a lake, mud crawled under barbed wire. It was crazy. The next day, I felt like someone had beat me with a hammer :) But, we will probably do it again next year ;) There was one team that traveled to be here. One of the gentlemen is paralyzed and in a wheelchair and his message is that if he can do this - YOU can do anything. Their teamwork and camaraderie was so inspiring. I can't wait until she is old enough that we can do it together as a family. Did I mention it was hard?
Oh, you came here for an outfit. Okay, okay :) Well, it is definitely worth your time to check this one out. Tonight's pattern is from Little Lizard King. It is the Everyday play skirt. http://littlelizardking.com/home/100-everyday-play-skirt.html
With a knit waistband and several skirt options, it is a quick sew that is fun and cute. Check out our version of the Little Lizard King Everyday Play Skirt!
Thank you for coming by as we countdown to the end of our school year next week. Next Wednesday will be our last official day of school as she has her 5th grade retreat trip all day Thursday and is out of school on Friday. After next Friday, the blog will take a temporary redirect as a travel blog and you can follow our family as we make our way from the US to Europe for a fun summer vacation. When we get home in July, sewing will be back on! Well, maybe once I recover from vacation ;)
See you tomorrow!
